Congratulations at the German SME Summit: Ranga Yogeshwar congratulates MECOTEC GmbH from Bitterfeld-Wolfen on being awarded the TOP 100 seal. The award ceremony as part of the summit took place on June 23 in Augsburg for all medium-sized companies that received the TOP 100 seal at the beginning of the year. The science journalist accompanies the innovation competition, which is being held for the 30th time, as a mentor. In the scientific selection process, MECOTEC GmbH from Saxony-Anhalt impressed in size class B (51 to 200 employees), particularly in the "Innovation Success" category.
On the occasion of the award, the CEO and founder of MECOTEC GmbH Enrico Klauer says: “Generating cold with temperatures below minus 60 degrees on an electrical basis is in the DNA of our company. We see ourselves as a technological driver of two megatrends: New Health and ultra-low temperature storage. In medicine, New Health describes the change from regenerative to preventive medicine. Ultra-low refrigeration solutions are finding increasing application in the storage of sensitive materials such as mRNA vaccines. In both fields, we use our many years of expertise to the maximum benefit of our customers. We are therefore very pleased that this effort is being recognized. At the same time, the award with the TOP 100 seal is an incentive for us to further advance our research in this area - especially in the area of sustainable application".
The TOP 100 company portrait published on the occasion of the award states (excerpt):
In the 30 years of its existence, the company has become the industry leader for cold chambers worldwide thanks to the innovative strength of its dedicated management. The company's easy-to-use electric cold chambers have found their way from rehabilitation centers to both the sports and fitness sectors, and are also becoming increasingly popular in the wellness segment. This innovation success created a worldwide demand. "For the private sector, we want to create standard products with reduced technical complexity in the lower price segment," explains Managing Director Enrico Klauer. So that he has more time for innovative ideas and development, Dr. Friedrich Rheinheimer has been appointed as managing director. The medium-sized company supplies the cold chambers all over the world. While 150 chambers were produced last year, this year it should be 190.
